Skates

The heal should fit securely in the cup of the skate with no more than a quarter-inch of space between the tip of the skate and your toes.  Insert can usually be removed to judge proper fit.  Generally, most skate sizes are one size smaller than the current shoe size.

Sticks

The stick should come just below the player's chin when standing while wearing skates.  In bare feet, the stick should come below the nose.

Goalie Pads

Measure from center of knee cap to floor.  Then measure from center of knee cap to player’s thighs, approximately 4" above the knee.  Then multiply the size of the skates by 0.75.  Add all measurements.  The final number will be the pad size.
